Petunias, New Orleans

Petunias, New Orleans

One of the finest restaurants in Louisiana is the Petunias situated at the hub of the city New Orleans. It is known to maintain the traditional style of cooking known as Louisiana Cooking.
The Petunia’s building was built by Barthelemy Bacas in the 1830s who was a cabin maker. Hence the building where The Petunias is located was originally a Creole townhouse. The interior of the Petunias has an old cottage feel and this definitely contributes to the warm atmosphere.
The Petunias have delicacies prepared in the Cajun as well as the Creole style. The Crepe way of cooking food is also present here. The Petunias provide an enormous amount of food items ranging from Cajun pasta with shrimp and andouille, Creole shrimp; a dish made from a blend of spinach, cedar, chicken and hollandaise; a combination of shrimp, crab ratatouille, and Swiss cheese and various other mouth watering delicacies. Morover there are a variety of grand cocktails and appetizers which would be very hard to resist. The food available here falls into the category of traditional New Orleans specialities. These forms of cuisine are essentially French delicacies more inclined towards continental preparations. This is due to the fact that several centuries ago people from European countries had come to settle in New Orleans and have inculcated their food habits and eventually have made it a tradition in the city of New Orleans.
